Report: Seattle GM Looking to be Active in Trade Market Early This Season

According to multiple reports by Fox Sports, Seattle Mariners GM Spencer Fascetta is planning to be rather active on the trade market this season. According to stated reports, the top candidates seem to be Supplemental Draft acquisitions Mark Pollack and Julio Santéraiõ, disgruntled first baseman Eugene Patterson, struggling outfielder Pin-Chieh Chen, and starter Tommy Baldwin, who was bought out last season, so this is his last season with the team. Some rumors even hint at a possible availability of rookie pitcher Luis Franco. Franco, 23, was the 23rd pick in the 2028 Rookie Entry Draft, and has been spectacular to start the season as the team's long reliever. One would assume that all of these players have high price tags on them, and Fascetta has shown quite a bit of shrewdness in past years with his collected assets, so some of these players might even be unavailable to a certain point. Fascetta is undoubtedly looking for some short term upgrades after a hot start to the season (or whatever qualifies as "hot" in Seattle right now...), while attempting to add more draft picks for the offseason.
