Report: Seattle GM to Meet with Agents of Correa, Walker, 2 Others

According to a report by ESPN's John Kruk, Seattle GM Spencer Fascetta will meet with the respective agents of veteran middle infielders Carlos Correa and Willie Walker early tomorrow. Correa looks to demand a high price and a long term deal (the latest rumors are that he may be moving across Japan to join the rival Osaka Buffaloes), and Walker looks to fall just outside the Mariner's current budget. Both players would offer veteran leadership to help compliment ace Rafael Pineda and star reliever and team captain Mauricio Biswana in the Seattle locker room, and would help bridge the gap to the middle infield duo of the future, Derek Stanley and Delmon Cardenas, both of who were marred by injuries through their rookie season. Kruk also reports that the agents of veteran relievers Stephen Strasburg and Fernando Casemiro have contacted Seattle personally.
